Welcome to Keep Utah Medical: Our Mission to Strengthen Utah’s Medical Cannabis Program

In 2018, Utah voters passed Proposition 2 with a clear message: patients deserve access to medical cannabis. Since then, progress has been made, but the program still falls short in key areas. Many common-sense improvements for patients have been delayed, and in some ways, restrictions have increased. These challenges often frustrate patients, pushing them toward the idea of a recreational program—where the focus can drift away from those who need cannabis for legitimate medical reasons.

Our goal at Keep Utah Medical is simple:
We want to preserve and strengthen Utah’s medical cannabis program so patients can receive safe, effective, and affordable care without unnecessary barriers.

Why We’re Here

Keep Utah Medical was founded to address the gaps and restrictions that limit patient care. Too many Utah patients are forced to turn to out-of-state sources or the illicit market just to access the medicine they need. We believe there’s a better way.

Our core priorities include:

  • Access through Telemedicine: Allowing patients to obtain or renew medical cannabis cards online, just like other healthcare services.

  • Let Doctors Be Doctors: Empowering medical providers to recommend cannabis based on their expertise—not on a restrictive list of conditions.

  • Expanding Product Options: Offering forms and products (such as drinks and edibles like chocolates) that patients prefer and already find in neighboring states.

  • Education and Advocacy: Breaking down stigmas and advocating for fair policies so that Utah’s medical cannabis program can truly serve patients.

Patient Voices Matter

We believe the future of Utah’s medical cannabis program depends on patient stories. Through videos, written testimonials, and shared experiences, we’re amplifying the voices of Utahns who rely on cannabis for their health and quality of life.
